Wally (Kid Flash) & Artemis Fanfic (Spitfire xD)
"C'mon, Artemis. Give me a chance." He whispered in her ear as he followed behind her. No matter where in the cave she went, he followed.
"And why should I?" She replied, forcing herself not to yell, ignoring the shivers that ran down her body as his breath touched her cheek. He smelled of Artemis continued to stare intently at the book titles, just so she didn't have to look at those amazing green orbs. The book titles were the last thing on her mind, though.
"Because I am a nice guy."
Artemis scoffed and turned around, glaring. "No, Baywatch, you're not. You probably could be, but you have just shown me you are an annoying, womanizing, self-centered bastard!"
Before she knew what was happening, Artemis was up against the bookshelf in the "Cha-Dex" reference center in the back of the library. This was insane. Wally hadn't left her alone for nearly a month, and she couldn't figure out why. Sure, he had picked on her, but he had never hit her (the blows that happened during training doesn't count). She had been the one who took Red Arrows' spot on the team, and Wally always held that against her. He had been rude to her since she first joined the team, but ever since her death in that horrible training exercise, things had changed. He wasn't as snarky and his jokes weren't as harsh; his overreactions when one of the bad guys hit her. All little changes, but all significant. Why was all this changing now?
Just as Artemis was about push him away and say some of the more colorful parts of her vocabulary, Wally pushed his lips to hers. The kiss was gentle, like he wasn't sure whether or not he should be doing it. His body was tense, waiting for her response. She could have pushed him and given him the beating of a lifetime. But why hid her own feelings when he was showing her his? Artemis sighed into his lips and felt him relax; She couldn't deny the feelings she had for this guy ever since their mission in Bialya. While she hated dealing with him, a small part of her enjoyed their banter, playful or not. She had pushed those guilty thoughts of him deep down inside herself, only to be entertained in the late hours of the night in her room. But now there was no reason to lie to herself anymore because here he was, kissing her. And now that he was, why did it feel so wrong?
Rather reluctantly, she lifted her hands onto his chest and forcefully shoved him away.
"What the hell do you think you're doing, Baywatch?" Artemis accused in a strained whisper.
"Something I should have done a long time ago."
And with that, she was pinned against the shelf again. His kiss was no longer as gentle. All the pent up sexual tension between them from all those months was finally released. Wally rubbed his tongue against her bottom lip, asking for entrance. She found herself parting her lips slightly. With the caress of his tongue on hers and the soft stroking of his thumb on her cheek, she had become overtaken by her emotions. The consciousness of the books digging into her back had disappeared, replaced by the feel of his body against hers and the smell of his deodorant, soap, and even a little sweat. Before she could suppress it, a small moan escaped her mouth. She felt him grin against her lips. Oh, no. He was going to pay for that. She needed to get back in control.
Artemis let her hands crawl to his back and slowly under his shirt. She gently raked her nails up and down Wally's back, smirking as she felt him give a small involuntary shiver. She had to let Baywatch know who was boss.
Her hands wandered around to his chest, feeling all of Wally's well developed muscles. It felt so good to be with him, touch him. Artemis enjoyed the feel of his hands as they softly cradled her face, his tongue rubbing against hers. She considered just letting all her everything go, and let herself give in. But she knew she couldn't, because of who she was; because of who her family was. She could- no, wouldn't- let him get involved in that world.
She pushed away from him and his delicious body and lips. She kept her eyes closed while she spoke quietly. "You don't want to be with me. Trust me on this one." Artemis took a deep breath. "This was a mistake."
She opened her eyes at the tone of his voice and looked up into his eyes. Those green orbs of his were clouded with confusion, longing, and pain. She tried to relax herself, to not let the pain in his eyes pull her back to him. Artemis walked around the stunned Wally
